My name is Alfred Rordame and I’m a trained luthier. I studied at the Violin Making School of America and have been building fine instruments for many years. When I moved to Snohomish County (Lake Stevens), I noticed there were no shops in the county catering to string players. Snohomish Strings is here fill that void.
When someone wants to start playing the violin, I always recommend renting first. The violin is a challenging instrument. It’s a good idea to rent before making a substantial investment. Inexpensive instruments are available, but will often frustrate a new player.

Bow Rehairs and Repairs
Your bow is just as important as your instrument. Over time bow hair wears out and needs to be replaced and bows can suffer other problems. Bring it in and I’ll have you playing strong again.
Saxophone Lessons

We can all agree that this is probably the least likely place you’d come looking for saxophone lessons! However, besides being a luthier, I’m also a sax player with over 50 years experience. I offer sax lessons for students of all ages. I find fewer things more rewarding that working with new players to open the doors to the great world of music. My specialty is in jazz and improvisation and I’m comfortable taking on new students or folks wanting to improve their skills.

Okay, another left turn here. If you took the time to read my “About Me” section, you’ll know that I’ve been studying sitar and Indian music almost all my life. I understand how classical Indian instruments work and I’m comfortable working on them.
